Proposal: Demosophia - Type Situation Room Construction at George Mason University

A proposal to the Institute of Public Policy at George Mason University to create a room designed for Interactive Management workshops. See also, Group Design Laboratory Use and Facilities" which describes a previous Demosophia. Later incorporated into "The Wandwaver Solution."

In Warfield Digital Collection the title is shortened to "Proposal: Demosophia-Type Room Construction at George Mason University" Old filename was <Imw018.wpd>. I changed it to <Proposal Demosophia Type Situation Room.pdf> This manuscript was submitted on 19 June 1995 to Dr. Kingsley Haynes, Director of The Institute of Public Policy at George Mason University, with a request for his help in promoting a room suitable for Interactive Management workshops at GMU, or as Warfield states in his cover letter to Haynes: "this is being submitted to you with the understanding that if you like it you will take charge of it with respect to moving it along to GMU for consideration." (Also submitted to Dr. Haynes was a second document, "Group Design Laboratory Use and Facilities" describing what had been available and in use at 227 Thompson Hall, where the Demosophia room had been operative before the Center was closed the Demosophia room dismantled. The description of 227 Thompson Hall was included with the proposal in order to give an idea of the extent of what was needed for an effective meeting space.) A year later, on 21 June 1996, the first seven pages of this same manuscript were incorporated as Appendix 12 of the manuscript "The Wandwaver Solution" (an informal document prepared for the incoming GMU President Alan Merten, in which Warfield proposed educational and philosophic changes to university organizational structure). As of November 1996, no response of any kind has been forthcoming concerning the Demosophia proposal, from either Dr. Haynes or Dr. Merten, GMU president. Contents: Summary of proposal; Summary of Background Information; Background; Evaluation Criteria; Appendix A. A Compressed History; Appendix B. Facility Information: Floor Plan for Primary Situation Room. Pages 1 - 7 printed on white paper, and the two Appendices, which are pages 8 - 29, printed on yellow paper. PAGE 29 is a sketch of the floorplan for the room, and probably is not on John's computer, but is in the manuscript MASTER, in the file cabinet.
