At last we have the complete book manuscript digitized and on disk. Jerry Shaeffer scanned Warfield's original paper manuscript from 1994 into PDF FORMAT. Jerry's equipment could not handle the complete manuscript as one file, he had to split it into two volumes and printed it as a 2-volume 2003 THIRD EDITION in his Sir Speedy Print Shop, Largo, Florida. This digitized edition is the THIRD EDITION, 2003, published and sold by AJAR. Nancy has compact disks for sale, available through the jnwarfield.com web site. Following is the compact disk label: A Science of Generic Design: Managing Complexity Through Systems Design 3rd Edition, 2003 (short title: ASOGD) ISBN 0-9716962-3-3 Ajar Publishing Company, Palm Harbor, Florida (2003). 588p (2 volumes). Compact disk with entire book in .PDF FORMAT Contents: two PDF files GENERIC DESIGN VOLUME 1, Adobe Acrobat document - 16,319KB and GENERIC DESIGN VOLUME 2, Adobe Acrobat document - 15,298KB.
Note, in 2014 Rose Warfield looked up the ISBN for the compact disk and discovered it is: "978-0-9716962-3-5 A Science of Generic Design: Trade Paper, Compact Disc, Mixed Media Ajar Publishing Company." This looks as if the disk and the paperback book have the same ISBN which can't be right. I guess I didn't get any extra number for the disk into the record.
NOTE: In the year 2009 Rose has discovered that the CD which Warfield was offering for sale uses not the November pdf files, but the October pdf files. Not much difference between the two, except for the index, which has patchy lines showing paper and glue activities. Jerry had erased all those messy lines in the index when doing the November version. I think Nancy has a copy of this disk at her home for sale in case people write and want one. I suppose the CD she has been selling is the October version as well, rather than the November one. Oh, Well, can’t win ‘em all. At least the November version is saved, Rose has both October and November versions it on her home computer. (R.w. circa 2009 )
NOTE: IN THE year 2016 Rose discovered the November version has pages out of order,from pages 9 throught 16, so selling the October version is better after all!
