There were several contents lists inside the note-binder and one on the outside. The lists give only titles, not file names so I can not decipher which computer file has the digitized version, I have already stored some of them in my jwpapers folder as some of Warfield’s writings. But don't know if there are duplicates and which writing is 1st draft vs final draft. ALSO I HAVE NOT YET GONE THROUGH THIS NOTEBINDER PAGE BY PAGE TO MAKE MY OWN LIST OF WHICH TITLES IT NOW CONTAINS IN HARD COPY. USUALLY I DO THIS SORT OF THING, BUT I AM GETTING OLD. Furthermore, I want all these documents to remain together, as a collection, since Warfield originally placed them in the note binder for that purpose. The papers seem to date from around 2006. That was the year that Warfield was creating his “obstacles” series on higher education, a group of articles which he hoped to get published, but was unsuccessful in the attempt. As for the actual hard copy of these papers, in their big note-binder, I have detached them from the note binder, grouped them with a big paper clip and put them away for the time being in a Brown bankers storage box labeled NOTEBINDERS OF WORKS IN PROGRESS r.w. 28 Feb 2013. Dan took this note-binder in box labeled NOTEBINDERS OF WORKS IN PROGRESS to store at his house on 23 June 2013

HERE IS MY ANNOTATION FOR THIS NOTEBINDER WRITTEN A YEAR EARLIER IN 2012 BEFORE I HAD DISMANTLED THE PAPERS AND STORED IN WORKS IN PROGRESS: In this note-binder labeled PAPER FOR KLIR'S JOURNAL This note-binder seems to be dated around 2006. In here can be found a number of small papers, some complete, some unfinished. It is possible that these papers have already been incorporated into the articles completed in 2006 and 2008 for Klir's journal, and this notebook could be just working papers for articles already written and cataloged under different titles or for or book chapters in Warfield's unpublished book. To find out for sure where this notebook fits in, it will be necessary to study the 2006 and 2008 manuscripts connected with Klir and determine if these small papers were included in later, fuller writings, in Klir's journal, If these are working papers for Warfield's last book, then the GMU Special Collections definitely wants them and we should save every one of the pages. The two complete Klir journal writings are Klir journal article 2003, and klir journal article 2007 and finally Klir journal article 2008 Here are the titles to hunt through to find references or actual use of the items in this note-binder: • 2003 - Autobiographical Retrospectives - paper in Klir's journal, 2003 • 2007 - Obstacles series of four articles, only one was published but the others were completed and are put away under the title Obstacles … Papers submitted to Klir • 2008 - Creating an Interactive Systems Science Program in Higher Education - Papers submitted to Klir • 2009 - Generic Systems Science manuscript - manuscript, Warfield's last book I am keeping the note-binder intact, have added nothing to it, nor have I taken anything out.
