Five Interactive Management Videos

Five short videos combined on a single tape. These videos, produced by the Center for Interactive Management, were used as demonstrations or for publicity. Each video shows scenes from Interactive Management (IM) workshops, along with commentary from the workshop clients who describe their reactions to IM methodology. The five videos are: “Redesigning the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) for the 1990's,” “Designing a Computer Science Curriculum for the 21st Century,” “Understanding Defense Systems Acquisition Management (DSAM),” “Consensus on a Winnebago Self-Sufficiency Plan,” and “Moving Toward a Consensus for Nursing in Virginia.”

An Interactive Management workshop with the Kent, Ohio City Council, 1978-1979. The Nominal Group Technique (NGT), Delphi questionnaires and Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) are the techniques used to assist the City Council develop an orderly and systematic way to cut city expenditures. Facilitated by Raymond Fitz and directed/narrated by James G. Coke and Carl M. Moore. There is also a 3/4 inch tape of this video.

This videotape contains two presentations originally on separate tapes. The first is “Toward a Balancing Budget: Making the Tough Decisions” and was originally taped in 1979 in Genessee County Offices in Flint, Michigan and then edited and produced as a National Association of Counties film. It shows the Gennessee County Board of Commissioners working through the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) process. The second video, “Making Decisions on Reducing Public Expenditures” shows the Kent (Ohio) City Council in 1978 utilize Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM), Delphi questionnaires and the Nominal Group Technique (NGT) as a way to find an orderly and systematic way to cut city expenditures to meet the city budget. The two videos were produced by Kent State University Professors James G. Coke and Carl Moore, who were among the early users of Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM).

This videotape shows the workings of the Gennessee County (Michigan) Board of Commissioners as they go through an Interpretive Structural Modeling process directed by Kent State University Professors James G.. Coke and Carl Moore. Narration by Elizabeth Rott. The original video was edited and produced as a National Association of Counties program. There is also a ¾ inch tape of this video.
