Reference List

This is the alphabetized list of citations for his own works which Warfield frequently uses in his writings. The list has publications as far back as 1967, but most of the names are relevant to works he produced in the past 10 years, I would guess.

This Overview article was planned by Warfield to be the first of a series aimed at the longer run possibility of getting systems science worked into higher education. To view full copyrighted abstract written in Warfield's own words please use https://www.researchgate.net/publication/250893350_Obstacles_to_systems_science_programs_in_higher_education_overview. For the other articles in the series, see “Obstacles to Systems Science Programs in Higher Education II: Thematic Vulnerability,” ”Obstacles to Systems Science Programs in Higher Education III: Virtual Conspiracies,” and “Obstacles to Systems Science Programs in Higher Education IV: Orthogonal Extension.”

Draft 13 of a paper that lays out the rationale for the two-domain concept in higher education, and explains why the Horizons College should be appended to the university. Furthermore, it discusses the two-domain concept’s role in teaching design and offering a doctorate with emphasis on design projects involving complexity and application of the Work Program of Complexity.

A table that has appeared in multiple articles including “Universal Priors, Draft #1” and “Structural Thinking: Organizing Complexity Through Disciplined Activity.” The table has six vertical columns, captioned: Definitive, Comparative, Influence, Temporal, Spatial and Mathematical. In each column are suggested terms to use in creating a relational statement.

Ajarmail.com information

Printouts from Warfield's first website, Ajarmail.com, which is no longer in operation. AJAR Publishing Company was formed in February 2002 to publish Understanding Complexity: Thought and Behavior and the website was used to advertise and sell the book.

A paper by another author that Warfield believed contrasted to his own methods. The paper discusses the Association for Integrative Studies effort to develop appropriate criteria of accreditation for interdisciplinary general education.

Activity Report, 2003

A fax message to Kingsley P. Haynes, Dean of the School of Public Policy at GMU that lists Warfield's presentations in year 2003, and his Papers, Monographs Books in years 2003-2004. On another page is a categorized listing of PowerPoint presentations which Warfield has available for future talks or seminars.

Talk outline and printouts of PowerPoint Slides used in an informal four part presentation open to faculty, students and the public at the School of Public Policy, GMU. Topics included 1) a quote from Geoffrey Vickers, 2) a review of how Scott Staley used Interactive Management to get a studied response to a high-level executive policy decision involving a potential 3-billion dollar investment at Ford, which was accepted by the executive as the correct decision, 3) A summary of Warfield’s research on complexity over almost four decades 4) How Scott Staley used Interactive Management to develop a layered proposal for his 70-million dollar budget to develop the Ford fuel cell vehicle over a four-year period.

A working draft of a talk that discusses the efficacy of Interactive Management as a tool to provide executives with information on available options. Using Ford Motor Company as a case study, it shows that IM was able to quickly and efficiently collect information through structured group input and develop options and present the choices to enable logical decision making. Drafted for a presentation as a panel discussion before Association for Integrative Studies (AIS) Annual Meeting at the Renaissance Center in Detroit, MI, 9 October 2003.
