A description of three projects funded by U.S. Office of Environmental Education - the Arizona project, the Far West Lab project and the University of Virginia Consortium - along with Warfield's development of a conceptual structure of what defines a national system of environmental education, with goals and methods, for use in effective curriculum development and teacher training, on a local, a regional and a national basis, systematically integrated. Presented at The Institute '78 on Environmental Education, Xerox Learning Center, Leesburg, Virginia, 19 September 1978. Expressing concern about systems engineering curriculum, Warfield proposes the term "Conceptual Sciences" to represent disciplines such as mathematics, philosophy, graphics, art, semantics and psychology, which he feels should be aggregated into a new constellation of systems sciences.
